Efforts needed to improve trade relations: Argentine envoy

Karachi : The Ambassador of Argentine Republic Rodolfo Martin Saravia has said that efforts must be made for enhancing exchange of trade delegations and interaction between the private sectors of the two countries which would certainly pave way for improved trade relations. While stressing the need to promote trade ties between Pakistan and Argentine during his visit to Karachi Chamber o Commerce and Industry the Ambassador pointed out that both countries continue to enjoy good bilateral trade relation since past 25 years. He said businessmen must meet certain requirements due to security concerns in order to become eligible for visa issuance.
However, efforts are being made to reduce these requirements and timings for issuance of visa,
Trade volume has always remained in favour of Argentine, except last year when it was in favour of Pakistan. “We must work hard on how to improve trade regardless of considering whether it favours Pakistan or Argentine”, he added.
Rodolfo Saravia advised Pakistani businessmen to focus on diversifying exports to Argentine as remaining confined to traditional goods would never yield positive results. There is also a great scope of cooperation between the two countries in other sectors like textile, pharmaceuticals, livestock, dairy, agriculture etc.
President KCCI, Abdullah Zaki, Senior Vice President KCCI, Muffasar A. Malik, Vice President KCCI, Muhammad Idrees, Chairman of KCCI Sub-Committee for Diplomatic Affairs, Abdul Jabbar Dalal, and others were also present at the meeting.
