LAHORE - All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) group leader Gohar Ejaz led a delegation of APTMA and FPCCI to the chairman Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) S M Munir on Monday. Chairman APTMA S M Tanveer and President FPCCI Mian Idrees were also present in the meeting.
Gohar said the delegation discussed in detail the problems faces by the textile industrialists.
The delegation expressed worries over the continuing decline in the textile exports. He said the APTMA has been pointing out the drop in exports and the reasons behind it to the government.
He said the APTMA has already highlighting the problems faced by the textile industry to the Federal Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir in the shape of seven point programme. He added the seven-point proposal included zero rate regime for textile industry, extension of Long Term Finance (LTF) scheme for ginning and spinning industry, exports refinance facility to the entire textile value chain on deemed export basis including spinning and weaving sub-sectors, announcement of 5% export incentive to capture non-traditional markets, special electricity tariff for textile industry and strengthening of domestic commerce by introducing Tariff/NT measures for countering informal trade and dumped imports.
He said the chairman TDAP has assured the APTMA and the FPCCI leadership that he would call on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif along with the APTMA and the FPCCI delegation.
