The spiritual leader of the Hur community in Sindh, Pir Pagaro-11 has expressed his desire to unite all factions of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML). He plans to undertake a journey across the country after the holy month of Ramazan. It may be recalled here that in the recent past, several moves were initiated by various leaders of the PML including Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Mir Zafarullah Jamali and leaders of the Like-minded Group. But due to rigid attitude of the top leadership of Nawaz camp, the re-unification could not be translated into reality. The father of the present-day Pir Pagaro also made several attempts and arranged meetings at Kingri House but all in vain. What is not being realised is the fact that the PPP is becoming stronger by having reliable allies including Mutihida Quami Movement (MQM) and Awami National Party (ANP). In such a scenario, with general elections so close, it would be difficult for Mian Nawaz Sharif to even maintain its current strength if all factions of the PML would be contesting polls separately. Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) is another strong factor particularly in Punjab, the stronghold of the PML-N. PTI in its recent public rallies had attracted huge crowds throwing a big challenge to its rivals. Mian Nawaz should take the lead in bringing various factions of the League under one banner.
