Principal tries to rape student, photographs her

| Police arrest accused; accomplices still at large

Bahawalpur - The principal of a local academy allegedly attempted to rape a 14-year-old student and photographed her in objectionable condition. The accused also used the pictures to blackmail the girl’s parents into paying him money.

The Baghdadul Jadeed Police have registered Asghar Shaheen on the complaint of the girl father and arrested him. The police have recovered the objectionable photographs and video from the accused’s possession recovered. Shah Muhammad, father of the girl and resident of Chak 7/BC, a suburban area of Bahawalpur, complained to the police that his 14-year-old daughter, a grade 5th student, used to attend tuition at Asghar Shaheen Academy.

Few days ago, she told his father that the academy principal took her forcibly to his office where he attempted to rape her. The man quoted his daughter as told him that “the accused also made photographs in objectionable condition” and would ‘tease’ her on daily basis. At which Muhammad contacted principal Shaheen who demanded Rs50,000 for “returning the photographs.” But despite receiving the amount, the accused principal refused to return the photographs. He, later, started threatening Mohammad with the help of his accomplices named Muhammad Arshad, Tauseef Ahmad and an unidentified one.

Baghdadul Jadeed Police SHO Irfan Akbar and Investigation officer ASI Akhtar Khuloo said that Asghar Shaheen had been involved in such ‘immoral activities’ 9 to 10 times in the past. “The principal, the police officer said, had also received ‘extortion’ from the parents by blackmailing them.

“Muhammad Arshad, Tauseef Ahmad and other accomplices of Asghar Shaheen are equally involved in this heinous act and they will be arrested soon,” the officer added.
