Judges’ detention case hearing today

ISLAMABAD - Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad will resume the hearing of judges’ detention case against former President Pervez Musharraf here on Friday (today).
ATC Judge Atiq-ur-Rehman will conduct the hearing while both the counsels will argue on the application moved by Musharraf seeking permanent exemption from appearing before the court in the case. Advocate Ilyas Siddiqui, the counsel representing Musharraf, had filed the petition in the court seeking permanent exemption for the former military chief from appearing before the court due to security concerns.
It is pertinent to mention here that the court had already granted bail to Musharraf in this case.
In another case, the ATC judge has granted bail to an accused allegedly involved in the abduction of an official of federal police Inspector Rana Pervez. The court accepted his bail after arrest application against the surety bonds worth of Rs 100,000.
