ISLAMABAD - Chairman Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Dr Tahirul Qadri has said his doors are open to resolve the crisis in a peaceful way, thus leaving ball in the court of Prime Minister Nawaz Shjarif to come up with concrete proposals to resolve the standoff.
"I shall never compromise on the bloods of 14 martyrs of Model Town," PAT chief told his workers after having a meeting with federal minister for railways Khawaja Saad Rafique who is reported to have conveyed a special message of the prime minister.
Qadri went on to say that he would meet Sharifs if they come to see him and he would also convey them sentiments about the Model Town incident that occurred on June 17. He said that his first demand was to seek revenge for the martyrs of Model Town tragedy, adding that he had informed Saaed Rafique during talks that justice for the Model Town tragedy was his key demand.
Qadri said that Rafique met him in a bid to end a deadlock in talks and he was even ready to listen to Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif if they were willing to meet him. "Door to talks is open and will remain open," he announced. Qadri said that the issue was discussed for hours, adding that the Parliament will become the martyrs' graveyard if he was killed.
PAT President Raheek Abbasi also accompanied Qadri in the meeting. Raheek Abbasi while talking to journalists after the meeting said on the occasion that his party was ready for result-oriented talks. "To make the process meaningful, we want meaningful and result-oriented talks to end the deadlock," he said, adding that the PAT has neither shown any flexibility nor changed its demands.
Meanwhile, former President Asif Ali Zardari had a telephonic conversation with Pakistan Awami Tahtreek Chief Tahirul Qadri and spoke about the current situation.
Senator Ch Shujaat Hussain and senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi also met PAT Chairman in his container. Both are reported to have taken him in confidence over their meeting with former President Asif Ali Zardari in Lahore.
They informed Qadri about meeting with Zardari and Qadri briefed them about talks with Khawaja Saad Rafique. Later talking to media persons, Ch Parvez Elahi said how could talks move forward till Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif do not tender resignation and FIR of Model Town tragedy is not registered, and real culprits behind massacre in Minhajul Quran should also be brought to book. 10 PTI MNAs make forwards bloc
Staff Reporter from Peshawar adds: The formation of a forward bloc within the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) over resignations issue has now been confirmed as a total of 10 MNAs have not handed over their resignations to the party's parliamentary leader in the National Assembly, sources told The Nation on Sunday. 
The sources in PTI said on condition of anonymity that the differences emerged in the party ranks over resignation issue, leaving at least 13 lawmakers from the Lower House with no option other than to form a 'forward bloc" headed by a retired bureaucrat Gulzar Khan, Member National Assembly from NA-4-Peshawar-IV. 
"The formal announcement regarding the formation of 'forward bloc' is expected to be disclosed in next two-to-three days," the sources said, adding the PTI MNAs were not revolting against the party leadership but have adopted a principled stance on the issue of quitting the National Assembly.
The differences widened further when the PTI leadership decided that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly's lawmakers would not resign, saying no rigging was taken place in KP as people gave a clear mandate to the party. "Citing the same reason, the MNAs from KP, now members of the 'forward bloc' made it clear to the party's top brass that like the lawmakers of provincial assembly, they have also decided not to resign from the NA," the sources said.
"The forward bloc is of the view that MNAs from the KP have not been taken on board before taking the decision," they said, alleging that leaders from Punjab have taken the matters of the party into their hands.
Sources said the party's core committee was taking all the decisions that had no constitutional power to do so. They said that there was no representation of the KP in the party's core committee to talk for them. They said the party's central executive committee was the right forum but no meeting of the committee was held so far.
