ISLAMABAD - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday accepted for hearing a contempt of court petition moved by Director General (DG) Higher Education Commission (HEC) Zia Batool against Executive Director (ED) of HEC and acting DG HEC.
A single bench of IHC comprising of Justice Riaz Ahmad Khan accepted the contempt plea filed by Batool against HEC ED Dr Mukhtar Ahmed and acting DG HEC Farmanullah Anjum.
She filed the petition through Umair Baloch Advocate and contended that despite court orders dated 29-01-2014, the respondents are deliberately avoiding process of law, harassing and threatening the petitioner while despite lapse of 21 days, salary has not been released.
The petitioner prayed that appropriate order for the personal appearance of the respondents may be passed and they may be directed to implement the orders of the court in letter and spirit by allowing the petitioner to work as DG HEC.
It was also prayed that the petitioner may also be provided police security. The court after initial hearing accepted the contempt petition and fixed it for further hearing on 25th February (today).
The final decision of the petition related to regularisation of HEC director generals is also expected on the same day.
