IHC directs police to file Mush challan in Ghazi case

ISLAMABAD - A local court Friday directed police to submit a challan against former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in Ghazi Abdul Rashid murder case.
Civil Judge Malik Amman on Friday conducted the hearing of the case and directed the police to submit the case record against Musharraf in the murder case. During the hearing of the case, the police sought further time for submission of the case record stating that the investigation officer, Yusuf, who prepared the challan (charge sheet), has been transferred. Later, the court directed the police to submit the entire case record against the accused Pervez Musharraf. It is also pertinent to mention here that additional district and sessions judge Wajid Ali would hear a petition seeking bail for Musharraf in the murder case of former Lal Masjid cleric Ghazi Abdul Rashid and his mother Sahiba Khatoon.
Ilyas Siddiqui advocate is representing him in the court while Wajihullah advocate will appear on the behalf of Haroon Rashid who is complainant in this case. Earlier, Haroon’s counsel argued before the court and said that during the investigations of the case, police remained blatantly biased and it had not recorded the statement of Haroon Rashid under section 161 yet. He further said that police is trying to present one-sided report before the court to deceive it and save the skin of former president. Earlier, the Aabpara Police had registered a First Information Report (FIR) under the sections of 302/109 on September 2 on the direction of Islamabad High Court (IHC) in response to a complaint filed by Haroon Rasheed, son of Ghazi Abdul Rasheed who was killed in the 2007 operation at the mosque along with his mother.
