Claimers of building new KP did nothing: PM

| Vows to keep up promises | Pledges timely completion of Lowari Tunnel, Diamir Bhasha, Dasu projects | Operation to continue till elimination of last terrorist

PESHAWAR - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Thursday said his government had taken steps for elimination of terrorism and the day was not far away when terrorists would be flushed out of the country.
“The credit of military operation against criminals and terrorist goes to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government and these operations against militants will continue till elimination of last terrorist,” remarked the premier while addressing a workers convention here at Governor House Peshawar.
“We are building new Pakistan while those who are claiming to make new Pakhtunkhwa have done nothing for the development of the province in the last two years,” he uttered.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, senior vice president and advisor to PM Ameer Muqam, Federal Minister Senator Pervaiz Rasheed, Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Federal Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, provincial president Pir Sabir Shah, provincial general secretary Rahmat Salam Khattak and others also addressed the gathering.
The prime minister said that Pakistan PML-N government could easily make government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but he provided this opportunity to PTI to contribute for the development of the province. He said after May 2013 general elections, Maulana Fazlur Rehman asked him to make government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but he refused and gave the mandate to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
He added that now the performance of everyone was crystal clear to the public and in the last two years PTI government had not inaugurated any mega project in KP to serve the masses and prove their efficiency. He mentioned that PML-N government was struggling day and night to make the country a developed state of the world and in this connection they had launched many development projects across the country.
He also vowed to complete work on Lowari Tunnel in next two years. The premier said that huge amount of funds had been allocated for this project. He added that before Peshawar-Lahore Motorway no mega project was initiated in the last 15 years and now his government had restarted the journey of development. “We are linking the country through a network of motorways and soon the nation will see motorways from Peshawar to Karachi, from Karachi to Quetta and from Islamabad to Gilgit-Baltistan.”
He also promised timely completion of Diamir Basha Dam and Daso Power Project along with expansion of Mangla Dam, which will produce 95,000MW electricity.
The prime minister assured that every promise being made with the public would be fulfilled as the nation had mandated Nawaz-League to contribute for the development of the country.  
Addressing on the occasion Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan said acumen of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had dragged the country out of crises and put it on a course of economic development and progress.
When PML-N came into power the country was facing challenges of militancy, energy shortages, economic instability and unemployment, he said adding, the policies of PML-N under the leadership of PM Nawaz had put the country on a path of development and prosperity.
He said people of KP and tribal areas had played an unforgettable role in war against militancy that would always be remembered. The governor said that war against militancy was in a stage that would result in final elimination of anti-state elements.
The KP governor termed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tribal areas a backbone for defence of the motherland. He said tribesmen and workers of the PML-N would make the area a bastion of Islam. He said Pakistan was created by Muslim League and its workers would not desist from offering any sacrifice for the survival of the motherland.
