Stringent security steps demanded in Lakki

LAKKI MARWAT - Elders and members of vigilance committee have demanded of the district police administration to take stringent measures for public safety on roads and highways, and lives and properties of the people should be protected at all costs.
The demand was made at an open court held at Ghaznikhel police station the other day wherein DPO Abdul Rashid Khan listened to the complaints and grievances of area people. Elders assured that they were ready to cooperate with local police for elimination of narcotics and gambling dens. "But the law enforcers will have to show seriousness in their actions against anti-social elements," they maintained. They appreciated district police force for busting the gangs of bandits and kidnappers who carried out robberies and abductions in disguise of army, FC and police personnel. They underlined the need for more effective measures for improving law and order situation and protection of people's lives.
On the occasion DPO Abdul Rashid said that district police administration had been ordered to maintain complaint registers in all the police stations for provision of quick remedy and relief to the complainants. He said that vigilance committees were being reactivated to improve liaison between police officials and people to eradicate crimes and vices from the district.
He said that the people could benefit from police to victim service in murder, kidnapping, robbery and other heinous crimes.  Rashid further told that close and cordial relations between area people and police would be helpful to overcome the menace of narcotics selling, gambling and other criminal activities.
Claiming to have launched several successful operations against kidnappers, he said that all-out efforts would be made to cleanse the district of all sorts of anti-social activities and anti-law elements.
Man killed over property dispute in Lakki: A man was killed over a property dispute here at Tajazai village in the area limits of Ghaznikhel police station on Sunday.
The complainant Muhammad Yaseen told police in his preliminary report that his brothers Javed Hussain and Shaukat Hussain were busy in construction work at a plot when the accused persons including Zafran and his brother Adnan came there and opened firing on them. Consequently, Javed was killed while Shaukat miraculously escaped," he maintained. He told that the killers fled after committing the murder. Police registered a case and started investigation.
