RAWALPINDI - The increasing incidents of torturing and missing of lawyers have swelled a wave of panic among the black coats, besides ringing alarm bells in the law enforcement agencies which have failed to protect the lawyers.
Another member of District Bar Association (DBA) has been kidnapped on GT Road near Ayub Park in broad daylight by unknown kidnappers here on Tuesday, police and lawyers representatives informed.
Filing a case with Police Station Morgah, the investigators probing the incidents have also recovered the motorcycle of the victim lawyer.
According to police and lawyers’ representatives, a DBA member Waheed Naz Janjua was heading somewhere on his motorcycle when unknown criminals intercepted him near Ayub Park on GT Road and kidnapped him. They said that the kidnappers left the motorcycle of the lawyer overturned on the road, which was taken into custody by police.
DBA General Secretary Malik Zaheer Arshad, while condemning the incident vehemently, said that this ongoing situation has created a situation of uncertainty among the lawyer community, which scared to move even in day light. He said that the kidnapping of yet another member of DBA has exposed the poor law and order situation of the city. He demanded the government to arrest the kidnappers and recover Waheed as soon as possible.
On the other hand, the lawyers during a hurriedly called session of general body also denounced the incidents and asked the city police officer to take action against the kidnappers for the safe recovery of abducted person.
Till filing of this report, police were clueless about the criminals who abducted the lawyer.
