Democracy first, wedding later on polling day

MULTAN

A couple deciding to celebrate their marriage on the polling day reached a polling station along with their guests (baraat) to cast their votes.

This incident was reported from Multan NA-151, where a Christian couple decided to celebrate their wedding on the polling day, so that they could vote first for some candidate and then vote for each other.

The couple made all the wedding arrangements in a traditional way. They took all kind of traditional music bands along with them and reached the polling station in a manner that surprised everyone out there. The media interviewed the couple, and they vowed to keep this political spirit alive. They said the entire family was excited for the election and the marriage both, so they decided to club the two events together.

The couple voted for their favorite candidate and then left the polling station for the marriage rituals.
