FPW Day 2: Royalty, spring and the myths of designs

KARACHI - Fashion Pakistan, the leading platform for Pakistani fashion designers, kicked off day two of the Telenor Fashion Pakistan Week 2015 the other day at the Pearl Continental Hotel in Karachi.
The second day of TFPW began with even more buzz and hype, with Amir Adnan opening the night with his terrific “Shah Zadeh” collection. The designer himself was not present but the hype about his collection was amazing. The audience was spellbound by the princely dress that every male member of the fashion world would love to wear. In short the entire collection was a work of art that screamed royalty.  Sanam Chaudhri showcased her” Zingara” collection which was an exquisite composition of muted greys and coffees to zesty pinks and oranges; making up for a gorgeous fun capsule. She won huge applause from the audience when she came in the end to bow meekly for appreciating her creativity.  Jafferjees collection was a beautiful array of accessories that were vibrant, vivid and stunning. This was a new collection that the models displayed while using the dresses of Wardha Saleem.
Abdul Samad’s “Uptown Funk” was a collection that was a striking collection of black and white, emphasizing on western and contemporary trends. The showcasing of the collection created quite a stir among the audience as some of the dresses were shocking and in a way very bizarre but then they were meant to show the designer’s creativity for the ramp at its best.  And guess who was the show stopper for Abdul Samad. It was none other than heartthrob singer Shahzad Roy whose fan following in the country could be gauged from the huge welcome that he got. Zaheer Abbas brought forth his “Primavera” collection, which was an allegorical depiction of spring. It showed the young designer’s artistic mind and creativity.
The brand Caanchi and Lugari presented “Bugatti” which was a portrayal of the European legacy, and a delight to watch. Gul Ahmed showcased the “Avanti” collection which is unique, luxurious and intricate, specially designed for the modern woman. Gul Ahmed is one of leading brands of Pakistan and it was good to see the creative team behind the success of this big brand. Fahad Hussayn closed the show with his bold and sensuous collection “Dominionatrix”, which is derived from the structure and hierarchy of a mythical dominion and the matrix of its construction which made up for a visual treat.
