She is one of the world’s biggest stars. And Beyoncé certainly doesn’t hold back when it comes to her show-stopping outfits, as she’s stunned in skimpy leotards, thigh-high leather boots and sequin embellished corsets over the years.
But while she’s had pieces made for her by the likes of Balmain, Versace and Diesel, Queen Bey has purchased a designer pair of £200,000 diamond shoes that she plans to wear in her next video.
The biggest name in music will sport a pair of House of Borgezie Princess Constellation stilettos, costing a cool £200,000, for her new video that’s due for release this autumn. And the Princess Constellation stilettos, which sparkle with 1,290 precious stones, are lavish even by the jet-set standards of the super-rich artist.
But Queen Bey didn’t stop at just the one extravagant purchase - as she continued her shopping spree by adding a gem-studded, gold Basque belt to her basket, an accessory that cost her a further £55,000. The Princess Constellation stilettos were inspired by the Paul Simon hit, Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes, but Beyoncé will be dancing to the sound of her own music when she wears the elaborate pair.
The glistening stilettos are the work of British designer Christopher Michael Shellis, from Birmingham, who offers a 1,000-year guarantee with the hefty purchase. But nothing is too pricey for Beyoncé, whose people approached the designer with her request for the shoes months ago after reading about the fancy footwear in an article.
Chris Shellis, owner of House of Borgezie, told the Birmingham Mail: ‘It’s the ultimate, Beyonce’s one of those fantasy customers. ‘If you want someone to model your creations, you can’t get any better than Beyonce. ‘I’ve been told the stilettos are for her next video which should be out in the autumn.’
Chris has raised the bar considerably with his design, which is available in solid platinum or 18-carat gold and speaking previously he said: ‘After 25 years, the Princess Constellation are probably my finest work. They are the crown jewels of stilettos. They’re a bit like the 1960s E Type Jag - it doesn’t matter what you do, you’re not going to improve on them.
‘Occasionally in a designer or artist’s life there may come a moment in time when you stand back and realise you may just have created your finest work so far. I think this is truly that moment. ‘Like any royal crown, the Princess Constellation will still be here in a thousand years’ time.’
It may take a lot of sole-searching before purchasing a pair, but Chris stressed his stilettos for the super-rich don’t just look good. ‘They’re a good investment,’ he added. ‘These are the ultimate in feminine adornment, they’re the crown jewels of stilettos. ‘They’re truly regal and have been created to be a world treasure - guaranteed to still be here in a thousand years time. ‘They’ll make any woman feel like a princess.’
