Margot Robbie is said to be in early talks to star in a manga adaptation of Ghost In The Shell. The Wolf Of Wall Street star is considering taking a lead role in the big screen adaptation of the popular Japanese manga by Masamune Shirow about a police department, according to The Wrap.
Ghost In The Shell is about a covert ops unit in the Japanese National Public Safety Commission, which fights technology-related crime.
The film will be directed by Snow White And The Huntsman’s Rupert Sanders for DreamWorks and could be a smart move for Margot as female-led action films such as The Hunger Games, Divergent and Lucy have all done well at the box office.
Margot can next be seen in crime comedy Focus alongside Will Smith, due out on February 27, and Z For Zachariah with Chiwetel Ejiofor and Chris Pine, about nuclear war survivors, which is set to be released in 2015. She is currently filming Tarzan with Alexander Skarsgard, where she plays Jane.
