Tasmina Ahmed Sheikh, former Pakistani TV actress has won over two constituencies in the 2015 Scottish General elections and is now a Scottish MP.

With a total of 26,620 votes, she won a clear majority according to the UK based newspaper The Courier. In a Tweet, she stated that she feels honoured and privileged to represent the people of Ochil and South Perthshire.

Before she retired from acting, she worked in a number of Pakistani TV serials including Des Pardes and Aansoo. After she ended her career as an actress, she founded a women’s right group in Scotland and became actively involved in UK politics along with contributing regularly as a columnist in a Scottish paper, The National .
