WASHINGTON: Gotye has reportedly had to pay Luis Bonfá $1million in song royalties. The singer made a deal with the deceased musician's estate to clear a sample of his 1967 track 'Seville' for his own track 'Somebody I Used To Know'. Gotye's song went on to become one of 2012's best-selling singles, shifting over 11.8m copies worldwide and making the singer internationally famous. However, due to an agreement which sees Bonfá get a 45pc cut of the royalties from the track, Gotye has missed out on over $1m, reports Complex.–MO
