Fifty Shades cast, crew safe after filming in Nice hours before attacks

PEOPLE NICE-The cast and crew of the Fifty Shades of Grey sequels are all safe after filming in Nice hours before a truck drove into a crowd celebrating Bastille Day, killing at least 84 and injuring 120 others.

“Production has confirmed that everyone working on location in the south of France is okay,” according to a Facebook message from producer Dana Brunetti late Thursday night. “Everyone has been accounted for and is safe and sound. Thanks for everyone’s messages and concerns. Another sad day for France and the world.” EW reports that scenes for the erotic dramas – titled Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed – were shot near the Bastille Day celebrations, but had wrapped prior to the attack. Actress Eloise Mumford, who plays Anastasia’s best friend Kate in the adaptation of author E. L. James’s novels, shared an Instagram tribute to the attacks on Thursday night.

Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dorman had been spotted shooting the third sequel in the French Rivera this week. The 26-year-old actress kept her hands tight around her 34-year-old costar’s waist as they rode jet skis on Tuesday.

On Monday, the two were seen cuddled up in a cabana chair and even giving each other back massages as they filmed another scene.

Fifty Shades Darker will hit theaters on Feb. 10, 2017, with Fifty Shades Freed to follow a year later on Feb. 9, 2018.
