Lindsay Lohan to face jewellery theft probe

LINDSAY Lohan could be called to speak to police investigating the disappearance of jewellery worth a quarter of a million pounds. The Hollywood actress had been modelling a necklace and earrings worth an estimated 250,000 for an Elle photoshoot at Big Sky Studios in Islington on June 6. The jewellery, which was loaned to the magazine by fashion house Dior, was reported missing two days later. Lohan is expected to be among a number of people present at the studio who could face questioning, according to the Sun newspaper. Elle magazine confirmed to Sky News Online that items of jewellery went missing after a photoshoot featuring the 22-year-old actress. But said they had no reason to believe that Lindsay Lohan was in any way responsible. A Scotland Yard spokesman said that inquiries were continuing and no arrests have been made yet. A statement released to Sky News Online said: We had an allegation of theft made to us on June 8 that is being investigated. The theft was reported after earrings and a necklace, believed to be diamond and estimated to be worth in the region of 250,000, were found to be missing. Lohan is believed to have flown back to Los Angeles. The 22-year-old has had several brushes with the law in the past. In May 2007 she was arrested after cocaine was found in her crashed car. She has also served one day in prison and was on probation for three years.-Sky News
