Whenever we think of visiting beautiful places, we immediately think of other countries. While international trips have a charm of their own, here are some places in Pakistan that everyone absolutely must visit before they die.

Khunjerab Pass:

A high mountain pass located in the Karakoram mountains, this is a place that is an absolute must to visit. If you go sometime around April or May, you'll find the mountains blanketed in snow as shown in the picture above. Later in the year, however, you'll be greeted by green mountains. Both views are equally mesmerizing.

Skardu's cold dessert:

Skardu is home to some of the most beautiful landscapes you can imagine. From lakes to snow capped mountains to cold deserts, Skardu has it all.

Attabad Lake:

Also referred to as 'a beautiful disaster', this lake was created after an earthquake caused landsliding, causing an entire village to get flooded. Beneath the lake's sea green water are the destroyed homes of hundreds of locals. The creation of this lake resulted in a break in the Karakoram Highway which has recently been restored. Prior to the restoration, the only way of getting beyond the point where this lake began was by boat.

Hingol National Park, Balochistan:


Spanning an area of 1,650 square kilometres , this is the largest national park in Pakistan. Since it is so widespread, it covers a range of topographical features ranging from subtropical forest in the north to arid montane in the west.

Cholistan dessert:


The Cholistan dessert covers 26,300 square kilometres and is home to a number of historical sites as well as natural landscapes that you absolutely must see. One of the most popular of these is the Darawar fort, a large fortress in Bahawalpur.

Bibi Jawindi's shrine:



This shrine, which is on UNESCO's world heritage sites' tentative list, was built in 1493 by an Iranian prince, Dilshad for Bibi Jawindi, who was the great-granddaughter a famous Sufi saint. It is located in the south-west corner of Uch, a historical city founded by Alexander the Great.

The Makran Coast:


Makran is a semi-desert coastal strip in the south of Sindh and Balochistan which stretches to Iran. It rises rapidly into several mountain ranges and out of its total 1000 kiometres, 750 are in Pakistan.

Katasraj temple:


Katasraj is a Hindu temple complex near Punjab's Chakwal district. It has a lake which according to Hindu mythology, was created when Shiva's wife died and he cried so much that his tears created two ponds, one here and the other one in Amritsar.

Makli graveyard:


One of the largest necropolises in the world, this site is located 98 kilometres from Karachi and attracts a number of tourists each year. it  is the burial place of around 125,000 local rulers, Sufi saints and others.
