TOM Cruise’s Oblivion has topped the UK box office on its first weekend on release. The science fiction blockbuster, directed by Tron: Legacy’s Joseph Kosinski, debuted to £4.9m to see off competition from last week’s chart-topper The Croods. Oblivion’s total is up from the £3.5m earned by Cruise’s last outing Jack Reacher.
