British actress Mischa Barton has been admitted to hospital for psychiatric observation it was reported yesterday. Police ordered that the former star of the hit TV teen show The O.C, be detained after being called to her home. Mischa, 23, was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center near Beverly Hills. A Los Angeles police spokesperson confirmed that a patrol car was sent to Mischas home to deal with a medical issue. US TV gossip show Access Hollywood, claimed she was placed under a 5150 section. Pop star Britney Spears was twice held under this in 2008 during her highly public meltdown. Since leaving The O.C in 2006, London-born Mischas career has cooled.
