Gravity dominates at UK cinemas

LONDON: Gravity has topped the box office, taking £6.2million in its opening weekend. Alfonso Cuarón’s space drama has been delighting audiences with its technical wizardry, as the seven friends who have already gushed ‘the 3D actually works this time!’ to you this week are testament. The strong reaction to the film’s usually-divisive use of 3D has led to 89% of cinema-goers seeing it in this format, the biggest 3D share of any 2013 blockbuster (probably in part due to the fact it’s hardly being show in 2D anywhere). ‘We are thrilled that audiences are flocking to see the film in 3D and IMAX.–METRO
where the cinematic experience can be fully appreciated.’
