Spice Girls to perform at Olympics closing ceremony

REPORTS have surfaced saying that the Spice Girls are '95% confirmed' to stage a comeback at the closing ceremony of the Olympics.
The girl group, who were at their peak in the 90s, are apparently set to join Take That and The Who and perform at the concert that will take place at the end of the Games. The fivesome, made up of Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisolm, Victoria Beckham and Geri Halliwell, are tipped to perform two songs at the unique event - one of them being their first single Wannabe.
A source told The Mirror: 'The girls were approached for the Games two years ago. It’s always been on the cards. But Victoria’s hectic work schedule, and the fact she and Mel B live in the US have always been problematic until now. Victoria is in London until the end of the Games and David’s exclusion from the football team means she has time to reunite with the Spice Girls. Talks are back in full swing and the balance of power rests with Mel C. Everyone is hopeful she will agree to perform.'
One person who will be glad of the news is Beckham's footballer husband David, who has said he is keen for the girl group to get back together for the event.
He said: 'She's a busy girl. The Olympics mean a lot to me so I'd love her to be there. But I'm not sure I can exactly demand her to do it. I'll try. We'll have to see'. With David himself now out of Team GB, a Spice Girls reunion will give him something to look forward to.    –Metro
