London  - Daniel Craig’s James Bond could be saying ‘Buongiorno a Italia’ amidst reports the 24th movie could be filming scenes in Italy.
Luciano Sovena, the president of the Lazio Film Commission, revealed he has spoken to the franchise’s producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson about shooting a car chase through the streets of Rome, reported MI6-HQ.com.
‘I met the producers of the Bond series, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson, and we discussed the project,’ he said. ‘One of the key scenes, among the most spectacular in the film, will be a car chase in Via Quattro Fontane. I’m already excited.’
He said the shoot has been scheduled to begin at the end of the year, once the paperwork is completed.
‘I hope that the city streamlines the procedures for the granting of permits. It would be a shame to miss this great opportunity because of the bureaucracy.’ Daniel, who will return to play 007, is no stranger to Italy, having filmed in Venice and Lake Como for his 2006 debut as Bond, Casino Royale. He returned to Lake Como for the 2008 follow-up, Quantum Of Solace, which also featured Siena and Lake Garda in the pre-title sequence.
Luciano explained: ‘Hosting the blockbuster Bond franchise is part of the strategy of Lazio Film Commission that it intends to attract large foreign productions in the region and encourage independent Italian filmmaking. ‘Our region has all the requirements, environmental and professional, to become the most sought after locations of the movie.’
 Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris will reprise their roles as Gareth Mallory and Moneypenny, but so far little is known about the plot of the as-yet-untitled movie. Bond 24, which will be directed by Sam Mendes, is due to be released on October 23, 2015.
