Hong Kong-Media Company Sipra Vision Production, owned by a Pakistani Uzair Spira, announced Sunday to release a documentary film ‘Asylum’ soon.
This documentary started with the news of a Pakistani asylum-seeker committing suicide in Hong Kong late last year.
“The documentary carries a message for those who are considering seeking asylum in Hong Kong, to be very careful as the state law does not allow them to work - if caught working they may face fifteen-month jail. There are many asylum-seekers whose life is on hold for fifteen years or more.” said director, producer and writer Uzair Sipra.
“Expatriates in Hong Kong also supported the project, encouraging the cause.” said the co-producer of the documentary feature film, Kashif Akhtar.
“We are still working on and hoping that something will motivate more Pakistani leaders and businessmen to support this project financially so that this documentary can be completed before December to submit in Hong Kong International Film Festival 2013.” the co-producer added.
The documentary will be released soon in local Pakistani channels, Africa, other countries and media spots around the world in a manner this sensitive topic deserves. The feature film reveals shocking stories as a visual message to the families of asylum-seekers who are not aware of poor conditions of their loved ones in Hong Kong. The company has also launched its page on the Facebook -www.facebook.com/AsylumDocumentary
