LEAs recover kidnapped Ukrainian woman from Mithi, Sindh

RAWALPINDI - The law enforcement agencies (LEAs) have recovered a Ukrainian lady, who was kidnapped from Mandra in 2013, from the custody of kidnappers during an operation in Mithi area of Sindh province, well placed sources disclosed to The Nation.

The foreign lady was identified as Katrina Chaudhry who has also been brought back Rawalpindi, source added.

Unknown kidnappers had abducted Ukrainian lady from Mandra while police lodged a kidnapping case number 130/13 under section 496 on complaint of her husband Saleem.

According to sources, a police team headed by Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar Division Dr Sardar Ghias Gull along with Sindh police and other LEAs managed to recover the woman from the clutches of kidnappers at Mithi area of Sindh. Sources said that the lady was handed over to Pindi police after recovery. They said that Rawalpindi police wrote a letter to SP Cyber Crime Islamabad while providing Facebook account of the missing lady on which the cyber crime experts traced the place where the abductee was kept by the kidnappers in Mithi. A raid was conducted by Sindh police and the lady was recovered, sources said.

SHO police station Mandra, when contacted, confirmed that the missing lady was recovered from Mithi, Sindh.

Earlier, according to sources, Regional Police Officer Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja had called on Ambassador of Ukraine to Pakistan and discussed the matter in detail a couple of days ago. The ambassador had stressed upon the Pakistani authorise to recover the Ukrainian national from the clutches of kidnappers. RPO was not available for his comments over success of Rawalpindi Police.
