Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, despite the passage of more than a month, authorities have not evacuated Indian paramilitary forces from schools. The schools continue to remain occupied by the forces, creating a sense of insecurity among the staff and parents.
Several educational institutions are occupied by Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) in Srinagar city and in other parts of the Valley.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of CRPF, Bravesh Choudhary, in an interview said that the CRPF had occupied schools in Srinagar which included Kothi Bagh, DAV School, Jawahar Nagar, Police Public School and MP Higher Secondary School, Khanyar. “There are other schools where our companies are stationed,” he said, adding that they will only shift their companies from school once the alternative accommodation is given to them.
On the other hand, the authorities are trying to reopen the schools by forcing teachers to attend their duties and persuading the parents at community level to send their wards to schools.
