Operation against militants in Kunduz city concludes, 6 attackers killed

Operation against Taliban insurgents who attacked U.S. military guest house in Kunduz city the capital of Kunduz province in north Afghanistan Friday morning ended after hours of fighting and bombardment, Afghan army commander in northern region General Murad Ali Murad said. "All the six suicide bombers were killed during operation," Murad told newsmen here. He also said that two foreigners were killed and three others sustained injuries in the operation, blast and gun battle. Two Afghan police were also killed, he added. In the attack for which Taliban claimed of responsibility, according to the outfit spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid six suicide bombers targeted a guest house of U.S. military at 03:00 a.m. local time inflicting huge casualties to foreign soldiers.
