APHC to honour Wani with Medal of Greatness

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) has decided to honour martyred commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, Burhan Wani, with Tamga-e-Azeemat, Medal of Greatness.

The APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, announcing Tamga-e-Azeemat for Burhan Wani for his dedication, sincerity and bravery said that it was because of Burhan’s efforts that the entire occupied Kashmir was on roads demanding the right to self-determination from India.

“His martyrdom has added a new life to the ongoing freedom struggle in Jammu and Kashmir. He has united and strengthened the pro-freedom voice of this troubled region and the entire nation is feeling pride in paying tributes to this Great Mujahid,” the APHC Chairman said in a statement.

Syed Ali Gilani said that Burhan’s parents were the proud parents of a brave son and deserved tributes. He also thanked the Turkish government for supporting and recommending the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to send a fact-finding team to occupied Kashmir and hoped that other Muslim countries will also raise their voice in support of the Kashmiris’ demand for right to self-determination. “It is not only human and moral duty of theirs but it is the religious obligation of all the Muslim and Islamic countries of the world to stand and support their oppressed brethren of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

The APHC Chairman while commenting over the statement of the UN Chief’s Office that World Body is continuously monitoring the situation in occupied Kashmir said that this organisation had so far failed to implement its own resolutions on Kashmir. He questioned that why is UN unmoved over the bloody streets and the genocide of the people of occupied Kashmir. He appealed to the UN and world leaders to come to the rescue of the oppressed and subjugated people of occupied Kashmir and impress upon India to cooperate in holding plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir and save the entire South Asia from war.

He praised disciplined and courageous protest programme of women on Tuesday and condemned the use of force by Indian forces against the women who were protesting peacefully in their respective localities.

Meanwhile, Syed Ali Gilani strongly condemned the killing of two youth by Indian forces at Chattabal and Lethpora areas, calling it a cold-blooded murder. He expressed shock and grief over the incidents. An APHC delegation visited Chattabal to participate in the funeral prayers of the youth.
