Obama pays tribute to Muslims

WASHINGTON - Stating that Islam has always been part of the American family, President Barak Obama honoured the sacrifices that Muslim Americans have made for the country Wednesday night at the annual Iftar dinner. In brief remarks to a gathering of diplomats, government officials, Muslim community leaders and other leaders of faith groups, he said that no matter who we are or how we pray. With only a month to go before the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Obama emphasised the role that Muslim Americans played in the wake of the attacks, and their contributions to the war efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
