Two killed, 21 wounded in Thai south attacks: police

Two people were killed and 21 wounded on Wednesday in separate bomb and shooting attacks by suspected separatist rebels operating in Thailand's Muslim-majority south, police said. Militants shot dead a 26-year-old man early Wednesday in Pattani province, and as police and soldiers rushed to the scene to investigate, a bomb hidden on a nearby motorcycle exploded. Six police officers, four soldiers and nine civilians sustained minor injures in the small blast, local officials said.
