India to release 29 Pak prisoners today

India will release 29 Pakistani prisoners on Friday, who are lodged in Amritsar and Gujarat jails, reports Indian media. According to Superintendent of Amritsar Central Jail S P Singh, all formalities have been completed and the prisoners will be handed over to Pakistani authorities on Attari-Wagah border. Out of the 29 prisoners, 17 are languishing in Amritsar jail and four in different jails of Gujarat state. According to the daily Tribune, Farzana, a Pakistani woman is also included in the list of the prisoners to be freed. She was arrested for carrying 'fake currency' while travelling in the Samjhauta Express and was sentenced to seven-month imprisonment. However, despite completing her jail term in November last year, she continued to languish in jail.
