24 dead, many injured in Israel bus crash

Twenty-four people were killed and 28 more injured when a bus filled with Russian tourists plunged into a ravine in Israel's Negev desert on Tuesday, rescuers said. Among the wounded, 15 were in a critical condition, the Magen David Adom rescue service said. The bus plunged into the ravine as it was heading to the popular Red Sea resort of Eilat from Uvda about 50 kilometres (30 miles) away. Israeli public radio said the bus had picked up the Russian tourists from Uvda airport.
