TEHRAN- A senior Iranian official says U.S. forces are close to a total withdrawal from Afghanistan, as Afghans no more want foreign forces in their country.

“Americans know the Afghan nation will no longer tolerate the presence and interference of U.S. forces in their country’s affairs,” Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor to Ayatollah Khamenei told.

Earlier this year, U.S. President Barack Obama said the presence of some 32,000 American forces in Afghanistan will drop to 9,800 by the start of 2015 and this number is likely to decline further by 2016.
