Four day World Space Week opens today

ISLAMABAD: The Institute of Space Technology (IST), has planned to celebrate World Space Week (WSW) 2016 between October 19-22, 2016 by organizing various events/activities at its campus in Islamabad

The theme for WSW 2016 is “Remote Sensing; Enabling Our Future”. This four day mega event includes number of events and competitions among the students from different schools/colleges and extensive Coverage of the World Space Week 2016.

Islamabad Institute of Space Technology is a pioneer institution in Pakistan offering graduate & undergraduate programs in Aerospace, Avionics, Electrical, Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering along with Space Science and Remote Sensing & GISc. IST is ranked amongst top four engineering universities of Pakistan and is committed to expand the public's awareness in the field of space Technology.

In 1999, the United Nations General Assembly declared 4-10 October as World Space Week (WSW). Pakistan is endeavoring to enter into the realm of Space Science & Technology and related applications. The success of any space program relies greatly on public understanding and support.
