The US Geological Survey says a strong, 6.3-magnitude earthquake has rattled Chile's coast near the city of Valparaiso. Carmen Fernandez of Chile's Emergency Bureau says there are no immediate reports of major damage or injuries. The USGS is reporting that the quake struck at 21:19 GMT Thursday, about 45 miles (70 kilometers) north of Valparaiso. It was followed a half-hour later by a 5.8-magnitude aftershock.
