Attack by Burqa-clad militants leaves 4 dead in Herat province

KABUL- At least four people were killed after a group of Burqa-clad militants attacked a security check post in western Herat province of Afghanistan.

District police Chief, Sher Aqa Alokozay said at least two policemen and two civilians were killed after the militants attacked the police check post.

No groups, including the Taliban militants, have so far claimed responsibility for this gruesome incident.

Herat is deemed to be a relatively peaceful province in western Afghanistan; however, anti-government armed militant groups are now active in a number of its remote districts.
