Herat- A woman has given birth to quadruplets in western Herat province of Afghanistan, local public health officials said today.

A spokesman for the provincial hospital Mohammad Rafiq Sherzai said the quadruplets were born late on Sunday night. Sherzai further added that the quadruplets include one baby boy and three baby girls, who are all in better health condition. The mother is well too. In the meantime, Sherzai said the family is suffering from poverty and will require economic assistance to raise their children.
