Blasphemy would not be tolerated: Grand Mufti

The Saudi Arabia Grand Mufti Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh said that Islam is being maligned in the name of freedom of speech and democracy highlighting that blasphemy would not be tolerated.
In his Hajj Sermon at Masjid-e-Namra in Maidan-e-Arafat Thursday‚ he said the world of Islam has been entangled in problems and hardships and Islam is the only way out. The Muslims can overcome all difficulties with their solidarity.
He said the Muslims should use their wealth for promotion of knowlege; If they want progress they have to move towards the technology.
Shaikh Abdul Aziz al-Sheikh said that Islam is being maligned in the name of freedom of speech and democracy. The Muslims should overcome their differences and work with mutual consultation, he said.
He called upon the Muslim community to follow teachings of Islam to promote peace and brotherhood.
He said Islam teaches patience and tolerance and abhors all types of violence in the society.
During the sermon Mufti-e-Azam urged Muslims to set aside their differences, adding that there was no association between terrorism and Islam. The Mufti also declared suicide haram (against Islam).
He further said that the Islamic system of governance was better than a fake democracy. Political problems can be solved through dialogue, he said.
The Mufti urged pilgrims to respect all nations and highlighted that blasphemy would not be tolerated. He also called upon all Muslims to unite and help each other.
He said it is the prime responsibility of the Muslims not to harm anyone on the basis of caste‚ creed and religion.
Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh said Islam is the only religion which has to stay and every Muslim should work to preach its teachings.
He said we can implement Islam by following the Sunnah of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
He urged the Muslims to ensure better prepare their children so that they become good Muslims and play their due role in establishing a peaceful society.
He also asked the rulers to work for resolution of the problems being faced by the people. He said Muslim countries will have to work for improving their economies to overcome socio-economic and political problems.
He urged the Muslims to bring their wealth back in Muslim community.
He said there was no place for violence and aggression in Islam. He termed all discussions against Shari’ah as propaganda, adding that few elements were talking against Islam in the name of freedom of expression.
The Hujjaj after staying in Madan-e-Arafat for Waqoof will leave for Muzdalfa after sun-set where they will spend whole night in open sky and offering prayers.
