If status-quo was a solution, Kashmiris wouldn’t have lost 80,000 people: Er Rasheed

SRINAGAR: MLA Langate and AIP Supremo Er Rasheed has termed Dr. Farooq Abdullah’s statements about his so called solution to Kashmir issue as unfortunate, unrealistic and a well crafted strategy to demoralize Kashmiris.

According to a statement, while addressing party workers at Pohrupeth Langate, he asked Farooq Abdullah to restrain from adding salt to the injuries of Kashmiris. Er Rasheed said, “If masses don’t ask questions to their leaders it doesn’t mean that they are dull and have given-up their indigenous struggle for resolution of Kashmir issue. Leaders have very often deserted Kashmiris and made secret sell-outs from time to time. Let Farooq Abdullah know if status-quo could have been the solution why Kashmiris had to take to arms struggle and lose everything as a result of turmoil during last 25 years. NC talks autonomy and PDP cried self-rule only with the intentions to weaken the genuine sentiments of the people.”

Er Rasheed added that Kashmiri masses are mature enough to differentiate between friends and foes, sincerity and exploitation and introspection and victimization. He said, “They don’t need sermons and license for proving their faith and allegiance towards the resistance movement as every common Kashmiri cutting across political lines has suffered. It was Farooq Abdullah who participated in 1996 army sponsored elections. However when Farooq Abdullah tried to dilute Kashmir cause by seeking autonomy, Kashmiris rejected him by turning in good numbers and voted against NC and reduced it to 15 seats. And now Mufti is also getting irrelevant for his shameless sell-outs to RSS.

Er Rasheed said that if Kashmiris vote for mainstream parties for redresser of their day to day problems it doesn’t mean they have surrendered.” He added, “It is always responsibility of the leadership to lead from the front and carry the movements to logical end. He appealed Farooq Abdullah to restrain from such unwanted and unrealistic comments as it only helps New Delhi to take Kashmiris f
