RAWALPINDI - The network of professional beggars has become active in different areas of Rawalpindi and posing security threats while, administration, social welfare and police has failed to control the situation. The residents of the area complained that due to negligence of departments of administration, social welfare and police, the professional beggars have become active in different bazaars and areas of Rawalpindi. The several beggars are involved in street crimes. Beggar Act 1958 exists but no action is being taken against the beggars. The beggars including children beg money and emotionally blackmail the people on name of God. Child Protection Bureau are also playing role of silent spectator. The residents of the area have demanded of the high authorities to take notice of the situation and control menace of begging.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
