ISLAMABAD – Secretary Information Pakistan Muslim League Likeminded and Member National Assembly Kashmala Tariq while opposing Atia Enayatullah Bill on Reproductive Health said it is not in conformity with Islamic laws.
In a press statement issued Saturday, MNA Kashmala Tariq said the Bill namely to facilitate reproductive health and Promote Reproductive Health Rights had a lot of areas to be deliberated since we are in Islamic Republic of Pakistan and all the law were in conformity with Islam, Quran, Sunnah and Constitution.
She showed concern that it seemed that foreign agendas were being pursued and some members of NGOs were pursuing it hard to by pass the procedure. She highlighted such things which create a doubt whether they were in conformity with Islamic laws should be sent to Council of Islamic Ideology or every party should give their opinion on that. She said that by changing the name or camouflaging under the name of reproductive health they should not hide the purpose of the bill from the general public which included abortion as it is a sensitive issue.
She said that consensus should be made and everybody should be taken on board.
