Rawalpindi - Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi, a CSP officer of BPS-19, has been appointed as city police officer (CPO) of Rawalpindi.
A notification in this regard has also been issued by the government on Saturday, informed police spokesman. However, the newly appointed CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi is likely to assume his charge on Monday (tomorrow). Abbasi has also served as district police officer (DPO) Attock, senior superintendent of police (operations) and superintendent of police (headquarters) Rawalpindi before getting this assignment.
However, two senior police posts in Rawalpindi have been lying vacant since the transfer of Akhtar Umer Hayyat Lalayka on February 11, 2015 from the office of Regional Police Officer (RPO) and Mian Maqbool from the office of SSP (operations) in May 2014.
