ISLAMABAD - The row between Pakistan People’s party and PML-N’s State Minister Abid Sher Ali deepened on Wednesday when the party’s chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari alleged that Ittefaq Foundries, a subsidiary of Sharif Group, is the power defaulter of 40 million rupees.
In a message on twitter, Bilwal wrote, “Where is Abid Sher Ali, Ittefaq Foundaries of Sharif family is defaulter of Rs 40 million”.
With this message there was a link to LESCO website, this link was a list of top defaulters of Lahore Electric Supply Company.
On this page, on serial number 13, there are details of arrears against Ittefaq Foundries, a subsidiary of Sharif Group of companies. Reference number 26115340938889 shows that Ittefaq Foundries is defaulter of 40,436,412 rupees and this amount has been outstanding from the last 103 months. The field, which tells the status of connection to Ittefaq Foundries, was blank.
There were 200 top defaulter companies listed on that page but connection status of only four was missing. Ittefaq Foundries was one of them.
Ittefaq Foundary website board of director page starts with a smiling portrait of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
According to website, PM is head of the Ittefaq Foundries.
This is not the first time top PPP chief has commented against Abid Ali.
Recently, Patron-In-Chief PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, termed loadshedding as ruthless victimisation of people of Sindh.
In a press release, he said, the policy to churn out extraordinary inflated bills to consumers and then using force and muscle power of federal agencies to fleece the public is anti-people, it won’t be allowed. He said the way the province, which provides major portion of energy needs of the country, is being treated is outrageous and is tantamount to further deepen the sense of deprivation among smaller provinces.
Abid sher Ali’s office did not comment on Bilawal’s tweet, however, Abid Sher on his twitter account on Wednesday wrote, “Public saw the fairness and the firmness. No one spared, not even PM Secretariat or Parliament House. One who doesn’t pay would not get electricity or gas”.
Not only the PPP top leader seems upset on power cuts and disconnections, there has been uproar against loadshedding, electricity disconnections and derogatory words of state minister.
The leader of the opposition Syed Khursheed Shah has already demanded resignation of Ali and PPP submitted a motion in the Parliament against Abid Sher Ali on allegedly calling people of Sindh and lawmakers electricity thieves.
