11 held; weapons, stolen vehicles recovered

ISLAMABAD - Capital police have arrested 11 accused of two inter-provincial gangs allegedly involved in looting people at gunpoint, and recovered two vehicles, one motorbike, gold ornaments, cash, mobile phones, seven pistols and ammunition from their possession. SP (Investigation) Saqib Sultan Al-Mehmood assigned the task to DSP Criminal Investigation Agency Bashir Ahmed Noon to arrest the culprits. DSP Bashir Ahmed Noon constituted a team under his supervision comprising Sub-Inspector Muhammad Athar, ASIs Tariq Rauf, Zafar Iqbal and Gul Khan. The team succeeded in busting two gangs and arrested eleven persons of these gangs who were identified as Amjad Mehmud, Ayub, Amjad Khan, Bilal Khan, Rohan Uddin, Rizwan, Hamid Ali, Imran Ashraf, Kashif Ali, Sajid Khan and Ayub. On the basis of preliminary investigation from these accused, the police also recovered two laptop computers, four mobile phones, one motorcycle, two cars, gold ornaments, cash Rs1,30,000 and seven pistols from their possession. They confessed their involvement in robberies in the areas of Shehzad Town police station, Koral police station, Tarnol police station and Bhara Kahu police station. Some of the accused had the criminal record and were involved in robbery and murder incidents in Mardan and other districts.
