Wajid quits as Pakistan HC to UK

LONDON - Pakistan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Wajid Shamsul Hasan announced to quit his position. He made this announcement while speaking during a gathering in London. Wajid informed that he would devolve his authority to the Deputy High Commissioner Imran Mirza. Wajid served as high commissioner in the UK for six years, which is a record tenure for Pakistani envoy. The Pakistani government so far has not announced the successor of Wajid.
Last year, Wajid Shamsul Hasan had announced his resignation when the PML-N took to power; however Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif refused to accept his resignation, asking him to continue serving as the high commissioner to the UK.
