Group show of photography enthralls art lovers





ISLAMABAD  – A group show of photography by seven artists was put on display here Wednesday featuring a collection of over 35 works at Nomad Art gallery. The show entitled ‘The Soul of Pakistan’ portrays the artistic skills of Azhar Hafeez, Abdul Razaq Vance, Abbrar Cheema, Kulsoom Aftab, Malik Ayaz Mehmood, Svitlana Plyhun and Umair Ghani.
These participating artists highlighted various aspects of Pakistani culture including heritage, architecture, landscapes and way of living of people in different areas of the country.
Abbrar Cheema explores the beauty, colors, and fascinating culture of Pakistan that continues to inspire him. Being an artist, he decided to use his camera as a tool and started capturing his inspiration to introduce “Real Visage of My Land - Pakistan” and innocence to the world.
Abdul Razaq Vance shows a creative eye and produces High Quality images recognised by numerous awards. Azhar Hafeez clicked moments into memories and presented the latest selection of photographs as a loving tribute to the diverse landscapes and faces of Pakistan.
While Kulsoom Aftab captured the creative work on Wazir Khan Mosque in the cultural city of Lahore. She also focuses on decorative tiles and terra cotta products.
Svitlana Plyhun is Ukrainian self-taught photographer and her work depicts moments of her visit to Afghanistan where she was fascinated by the colors, faces and characters of the country. She also captured a series of photography on Afghan children.
Umair ghani’s photographs see women of Pakistan as strong and intelligent creatures, fighting against a judgment of odds with dignity and their pride. The show continues till August 9.
