ISLAMABAD - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq Tuesday said that a large number of migrants, who have been taking refuge in Afghanistan due to military operation in North Waziristan, can be used against the country."Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif did not take nation into confidence about decision of operation Zarb-e-Azb," said JI chief while addressing a press conference. He said that the PML-N government was mandated in All Parties Conference (APC) to hold negotiations with Taliban. "It was decided not to conduct operation in NWA but the PM without taking political parties into confidence decided operation in NWA," he said, adding that the PM should take into confidence about the reasons to initiate operation in NWA.The JI chief further said that operation in the NWA has badly been affecting the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He also called upon the federal government to declare KP as affected province and issue immediate grant of Rs 50,000 per family for about 750,000 IDPs to enable them observe fast during the holy month of Ramazan. He was of the view that around 1.5 million cattle were affected due to operation.The JI chief appealed to the philanthropists, the affluent and welfare bodies to extend all out help and assistance for the rehabilitation of the IDPsHe urged them to extend full support to the Al-Khidmat Foundation in the rehabilitation of the IDPs.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
