islamabad - The long-awaited meeting of Departmental Selection Board (DSB) on Wednesday promoted more than 60 officers from grade-18 to grade-19. The promoted officials are from Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), Pakistan Institute of Medical Science, Federal Government Services Hospital, Polyclinic and special education department. As many as 50 government officers including 25 male and female assistant professors from federal government colleges have been promoted to BPS-19 in this meeting. The meeting was held at Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD). The meeting of Departmental Selection Board held after one and half years.
Ex-president of Federal Government College Teachers Association Professor Tahir Mahmood said, “These promotions were due for a long time, and credit to these promotions goes to the Secretary CADD Khalid Hanif because he has shown his personal interest to this effect.”
Promotion brings about shifts in status of the teachers involved. This is indeed a good piece of news for teachers in this holy month of Ramazan. The college teachers are happy at the positive and encouraging role of the secretary, he remarked. General Secretary FGCTA (local Unit H-8) Professor Muhammad Akram said, “Teachers are often given cold shoulder and a push back whenever there is their turn of promotion. The promotions were long overdue, and had the Secretary CADD not shown respect and recognition to the services of the teaching community, these promotions would have further been delayed. The teaching community is very happy at the encouraging response and recognition from secretary.”
